Trevor Glanville Waymouth (RAF)
Born at Buenos Aires on 29 Aug 1912.
Died at Bideford, Devon on 2 July 1992.
Trevor was the elder of two children of Norman Bernard de
Kuyper Waymouth and Hilda Jessie (nee MacFarlane).
Born in Argentina to a New Zealand father and an English
mother, Trevor held passports from three countries. He was
educated in Argentina and England and joined the RAF in
1937. During WW2 he served in the Middle East and India
(flying instructor) and over Europe from England. He became
a Wing Commander. After the war Trevor became Managing
Director for British South American Airways from 1945 to
1952. He re-joined the RAF until 1962. Speaking many
languages, Trevor then took a position with a steel company,
Handy Angle, to promote its products in Europe, Africa and
the Americas. He retired in 1972.
Trevor married twice, firstly to Kathleen Sybil Hancock, three
children and secondly to Wilhelmine Emilie Dorothee Zirkel,
two daughters.
