The Thompson family history (see link) includes the children of Samuel Thompson and Jane Chambers. Their second child was:
Mary Thompson married to John Moore, Killyleagh, gone to Pittsburg, America.

I have not contacted anyone who agrees that this couple might be their ancestors. However the US census contains a family that seems to fit the evidence very well.

Mary’s husband is not with the family in the 1850 or later census and he might have died before 1850.

A family tree based on the census results is linked to this page.
